The aim of this course is to give you a through introduction to a variety of topics essential to working in construction. You will develop an understanding of the construction sector considering Health and Safety legislation and welfare, construction technology and working as part of a group as well as exploring other vocationally-relevant topics and areas.
The Highfield Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Construction is ideal for anybody who currently works, or is interested in working, in a site-based construction role for example, site logistics operatives, maintenance operatives, groundworkers and highways maintenance engineers.
This is a 6-day course delivered over 2 weeks.
You will be provided with quality resources that will give you the knowledge and understanding required to enable you to undertake the end of unit assessments.

This unit helps learners to develop the skills and attitudes they need for working in and contributing to a group. It shows learners how to look at their progress and the skills they are developing and helps them to think about how they can improve, as well as how to review the progress that a group makes on projects.
Team Working to Handle Resources in the Construction Industry
This unit introduces learners to the guidance, regulations and practices for handling resources in construction industry settings. Learners will understand handling techniques, working as a team, risks, the use of simple lifting aids, and seeking guidance.
